Alexandra Pierce's compositions include symphonies, string quartets and works for chorus, mixed chamber ensembles, solo voice, piano, woodwinds, percussion, strings, prepared piano and harp. Prizes include yearly ASCAP Standard Awards since 1979. Most of her scores are published by Seesaw Music Corporation, and a few by Media Press, Arsis Press (Sisra Publications) and Hildegard Music. Outcrops and upshots, a CD distributed by Arizona University Recordings (AUR 3056), contains her second string quartet and other chamber music pieces. The second symphony, Dances on the Faces of the Deep, appears on CD-VMM 3029; Short Suite Overture, appears on CD-MMC 2081.
