"Reflections on the Hudson "
Nancy Bloomer Deussen is well known throughout the San Francisco Bay Area as a composer, performer, arts organizer, and music educator. She is a leader in the growing movement for more melodic, tonally oriented contemporary music and is a co-founder of the San Francisco Bay Chapter of the National Associataion of Composers, USA. Her original works have been performed throughout the US and Canada, and she has received numerous commissions from such performers and ensembles as the Oakland Chamber Orchestra, Walnut Street Chamber Ensemble (Philadelphia), Baton Rouge Concert Band, Augustana College Band, Bresquan Trio, Santa Clara Chorale, Women's Caucus in the Arts, OPUS 90 Chamber Ensemble, clarinetist Richard Nunemaker, Tanana HS Band of Fairbanks (Alaska), Gabrieli Brass, Soundmoves (Western Oregon University), Mission Chamber Orchestra, flutist Angela Koregelos and pianist Zoe Smith, Sempervirens environmental group, Jim and Pat Watt, and Mu Phi Epsilon.
